In this tutorial, I want to share how to create an ID Card and automatically fill in data such as name, position, ID number, and photo using Certifast. This allows you to print hundreds of ID Cards easily and quickly without the hassle of manually inputting data one by one.
An ID Card, or identity card, is a card that serves as a personal identification tool. This card is usually small and easy to carry, often made from durable plastic material. An ID Card contains important information about the owner, such as name, photo, date of birth, address, and a unique identification number. ID Cards are used in various situations, such as access to office buildings, identification in educational institutions, and identity verification in various public and private services. With an ID Card, the identity verification process becomes faster and more efficient, and it helps improve the security and reliability of administrative systems.
Here’s how to create an ID Card automatically using Certifast:
Essentially, when creating a project, you can use an ID Card design that you previously created in another application like Canva, or you can use the templates provided by Certifast.
If you don’t know how to create a project, you can check out this tutorial.
If you are using an ID Card design that you created with another application, make sure to delete the photo, name, ID number, position, etc., to be later replaced by Dynamic Image and Dynamic Text.
To add a Dynamic Image, you can add it from the Toolbar located on the left side. After adding the Dynamic Image, move the position of the Dynamic Image as needed.
Additionally, you can change the shape of the Dynamic Image according to your needs through the sidebar on the right side. Currently, the Dynamic Image can be changed into Rectangle, Circle, Diamond, and Pentagon shapes.
Next, you need to add Dynamic Text for each piece of data you want to add. In this tutorial, the data added includes: Name, Position, Phone Number, Email, and ID Card Number.
To avoid confusion when inputting data, you can double-click on the Dynamic Text and change the text name as needed.
The next step is to enter the data (name, email, position, etc.) along with the photo you want to generate by clicking the Manage Data
button on the right sidebar. After that, you can enter the data (e.g., Participant Name) by typing it manually or copying and pasting from your Excel file.
Note: For photos, you cannot input them by copying and pasting from Excel. You must upload them manually one by one.
The final step is to click the Generate Certificate
button on the right sidebar. You can choose the format, either PDF or JPG, for the final output of the ID Card.
Note: Although the button says 'Generate Certificate,' the button essentially functions to perform mass export.
